A leading HPC product manufacturer needed higher software quality without the manual effort required to deploy each product increment. Test and integration cycles measured in weeks blocked engineering velocity and made regressions expensive to find.
Artifact handling and environments were not reliable enough to recreate the product consistently from its components — a prerequisite for trustworthy automation.
02 WHAT WE DID
Broadwing overhauled the delivery path from build through deploy:

CI/CD and artifact warehousing — Modernized pipelines and artifact management so hundreds of artifacts could be handled efficiently and the product could be recreated from components.

Integration test depth — Wrote hundreds of integration tests that exercised real product behavior, not just unit-level checks.

Cloud deployment targets — Stood up cloud-based deployment targets so teams could iterate without contending for scarce physical environments.
03 THE OUTCOME
Software test cycles dropped from one month to about one hour. Teams used daily CI/CD dashboards to spot regressions quickly, and engineering time shifted from waiting on environments to shipping product improvements.
