01 THE CHALLENGE
A leading HPC manufacturer needed a horizontally scalable, virtualized management environment for a suite of products — not a brittle single-node control plane that would fail at supercomputing scale.
Installation time and operational complexity were themselves product problems: customers needed a management plane that could be stood up quickly and operated as cloud-native microservices.
02 WHAT WE DID
Broadwing designed and delivered the management plane end to end:

HA hypervisor management plane — Built a high-availability management plane for collocating and parallelizing software stacks at scale.

Kubernetes-hosted microservices — Hosted control-plane services on Kubernetes with patterns suited to large HPC environments.

Auto-discovery — Implemented auto-discovery so the plane could find and manage components without manual inventory toil.
03 THE OUTCOME
The management plane reached successful launch with full installation under an hour. Operators gained a cloud-native control surface matched to supercomputing scale rather than a fragile bolt-on admin stack.
